Sylvan Lake & Area Community Partners' Association
	A Sylvan Lake Charity working together for a healthy resilient community where all its members are valued.

COATS FOR KIDS (AND FAMILIES TOO)
Oct – Feb. Yearly, seasonal program in collaboration with the community to collect
and recycle lightly used winter clothing for distribution to children and families.

COMPASSION FUND
This fund exists to give Emergency financial assistance to those in our community and surrounding area that are in crisis.

COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER
Annual community Christmas Dinner open to anyone wanting food & fellowship.
Held on Dec. 24 from 4 -7 pm. Santa comes to visit and pictures are taken of the children with him.
There are gifts for all children. Many volunteers come to help with this event.

HEROES SCHOOL PROGRAMS
This is an established program on Character building
taught to middle school children by Volunteer Instructors.

WELCOME TO SYLVAN BAGS
These are welcome bags given to newcomers in the community with
comprehensive information on all areas of community life plus
advertising from local businesses and individuals at no cost to contributors.

SHAKE THE LAKE
Annual outdoor music and sports festival geared towards youth, children and families.
Held in collaboration with Sylvan Lake youth leaders to assist youth programs,
Music and fun at the lake at no cost to community and Families.

ARTS AROUND THE LAKE & GALLERY
An art collective and gallery dedicated to exhibits, education and performances
supporting the arts and artists in Sylvan Lake and Area.

HOUSEHOLD EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Furniture available to anyone needing any household goods.

MONTHLY COFFEE SHARING TIME
A monthly morning coffee meeting to exchange information on programs
and offer support to various community service groups.

WOMEN’S WELLNESS RETREAT
A one day retreat with an opportunity for women to learn
about healthy lifestyles, wellbeing, build skills
and gain knowledge in an annual event.

SYLVAN FAMILY MATTERS
Various workshops that increase knowledge and build skills
such as Family Violence Awareness and Prevention,
Bullying in the workplace,
Little Warriors, Budgeting and life skills.

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY FUND
A fund of community dollars held for major emergencies
in the community such as uninsured fires etc.

WORK EXPERIENCE STUDENTS
Work with various students wanting to do a rotation working in a non-profit agency.
Also make available office space for students doing
Government programs such as Services Canada.

VARIOUS FUNDRAISERS
Events done by board, staff and volunteers to raise money for programs and projects
of Sylvan Lake Community Partners.

1913 DAYS COMPASSION GARAGE SALE EVENT
Join us each year in June for our annual 1913 days Compassion fund garage sale and BBQ.
All garage sale items are purchased by donation. A child find clinic is held in conjunction with this event.
We are looking for good used items for our Garage Sale give away. (no clothes please).
Please drop off any items at the back of our office between 7 and 9 am day of sale.
